Myth be told Alexander is ready
Here in the Paxton residence we have established a routine to help alleviate the stresses of parenting. One of the routines that helps us are the grandparents. On occasion we get a call from Grandma Carla and Grandpa Mike asking if they could get Ayden for the weekend. We as a family have allowed Ayden to spend time away for visits to help him mature and build relation ships with other family members. Ayden started to take these weekend trips when he was about two years old and when he could successfully separate from us with very little anxiety. Ayden at first had some rough times and Grandma Carla could not take him for more then a day. The transition was a little challenging but we managed to guide him trough. While Ayden gets these trips to his grandparents house, it gives us bonding time with Alexander. We do activities with Alexander that help him mature without the influence of his older brother. This alone time is the same kind of time Ayden had before we had his little brother in the picture. When Alexander becomes more defined and independent he to will be able to take weekend trips to selected grandparents houses if they would like. Our goal as parents, are to ensure that the child feels up to the challenge with being separated from us. So with that being said our Alexander is more then willing to visit, all we need is family members who are willing to transition Alexander and to assist in his independence.
