Last weekend we went to our favorite pumpkin patch in this area Schilter Farm. Our friends Tanya, Christian and their daughter Emma came along with us. It was allot of fun watch the children (including Jason and Christian) wander around the pumpkin dotted fields in search for just the right one. Ayden quickly found his pumpkin and took to digging in the ruts left by the tractors. No matter where we go he will find some dirt to play in. Alex on the other had took his time finding his perfect pumpkin doing a little stomp test on everyonehe came in contact with. If his foot went through the pumpkin then he moved on to the next one until he found one that he both liked and was strong enough to withstand his 30 pounds of weight. After we all had found our pumpkins the tractor took us back to the main barns where we weighed and paid for our gords. Then we wandered over to the Animal barn and got to get up and personal with pigglets, a baby calf, chickens, kittens and two ponies at the end. Now the ponies were fenced off from the rest of the animals meant not to be visited with yet my charming children managed to find a soft spot in the farmer that was tending to them because he lifted both of the children up and over the rail with a reluctant smile. He really got a kick out of Alex and proceeeded to place him on top of one of the ponies. The boys were so tickled by getting to pet the "horsies". Again this is my faviorte pumpkin patch because it is a family run farm that is both welcoming and interactive. The poeple there are nothing but kind and helpful. So if you live in the area I strongly suggest that you give this farm a try next year or even go there for your chirstmas tree.
